The fact that I am no longer abroad does not mean that nothing is happening in my life. I would say: on the contrary!
I have been so busy that I have been neglecting my duties to inform you all on what is happening. I am sorry!
I started an internship at CMC-Mensen met een Missie, a small Dutch catholic development organisation in the Hague at the end of September. My assignment is to help them in designing a new system for Planing, Monitoring and Evaluation (the holy trinity of today’s development assistance). I am working two days a week at their office in the Hague (spending the night at a friend’s place or at my cousin’s-including bathing the children and reading them bedtime stories) and one and a half day at home in Groningen. I really enjoy this assignment as it enables me to see all the processes of the Programmes’ Department and I get to use my creativity a lot in suggesting new procedures and formats!
And the rest of the time is filled with trying to finish my thesis (on development aid for refugees) on time. And that is a difficult task! I want to graduate before the end of December and there is still a lot of work to do.
And after that an even bigger task: finding a job. I have been applying a bit already and if there is any good news I will let you know of course!
As I am hoping to graduate in December it is better to no longer use my student mail.
