So far for my plans to write regular updates...
On the one hand I feel that I am not having a lot of adventures to share with you, but on the other hand it is so difficult to select what I want to tell you, after a month and a half.
As some of you might have noticed, the last message was from the day before my birthday. And I really had a good birthday! First I had a lunch meeting for our Programming Module (Programming Aid in the Context of Violent Conflict) and it was a big surprise that they made me a cake with candles and had presents! And then Martijn arrrived just in time for the cake, so it really felt like birthday. At night we went to eat pizza with over 25 people, for my birthday and Elise's. That was a lot of fun!
The Sunday after, my parents, Emma and Martijn's parents came to visit me as well for my birthday. So a lot of birthday fun!
During my Easter Holidays is made a tour around the Netherlands, and realised that I do miss Groningen! But Bochum is very good too with all the great people, and it is looking SO much better with the green trees and the flowers etc. Especially the botanical garden is really amazing, and a good place to have a picknick and read.
As we do have to read a lot... Programming was not a very good module in the end, due to bad supervision of the teacher. The module that ended last Tuesday, Project Design (Peace Building and Capacity Building) was great though!! A lot of hard work, but in the end we did a good job I think. And the teamwork in this group was really good too.
Last weekend we had a very nice training weekend, but I will write a separate message on that (as that surely was an adventure!). Another very nice weekend was the weekend of 22-23 April when Aart-Jan,Anne, Bert, Erik and Martijn came to visit me (the Railtrip)! Someone asked me whether they were my 5 brothers. :D Thank god no... (You can see what we would be like in case of an emergency :) ) But we had a lot of fun anyway! So thanks for coming all the way to Bochum guys!
Yesterday we started with our Leadership Module, next weekend we are going to a conference in Brussels, then a simulation week and then I am already moving my things back to the Netherlands!
Time is really flying!!
Especially as I am flying to Yogyakarta on 8 June already... And still there are a lot of things unclear about this trip. Sometimes it can be really frustrating to be a guinea pig. But I am looking forward to it!!

ciao,
Hanneke

Iig succes met de laatste weekjes.

    Anne:

    Erik:

about the rail trip crew: we're hanne's emergency brothers. Like sanitary bandages really disposible. Hey dear, hope this day finds you as good as can be and your endeavours prosper as well as your oregano plants do on my balcony (like weeds)! Love, Erik

"...it is so difficult to select what I want to tell you..." That sounds quite intriguing, what are you hiding? But all madness on a stick: enjoy your final weeks in Bochum!!!
